“I have designed a new range of Australian wines. The concept behind Vee-Noh! is pronunciation. I have worked in the hospitality industry for a few years and am always amused how people pronounce certain wines, often incorrectly. I believe I have developed a cheeky solution.”

“British design studio ilovedust were commissioned to create fresh new packaging for a local Dorset cider company.

Inspired by English South Coast Summer days spent having BBQs and cider by the seaside, the ‘Sea Ciders’ packaging takes inspiration from all things maritime. Anchors and pirates mix with portholes, crabs and shrimps to create an all-over nautical narrative in this appealing design.”

DesignersJourney, who we previously featured as a Studio Spotlight, recently won a Bronze Pentaward for A La Petite Ferme:

“Bronze at Pentawards 2009, worldwide packaging design awards competition. Nominated at Visuelt 09, norways largest competition for visual communication. Madiran in South-West France is a simple countryside area as opposed to surrounding wine departments, often characterized by chateau´s and castles.

The idea was to transmit an unpretentious “every day feeling” and to open a window to the smells, sounds and impressions of a simple life in the countryside. We wanted to create an identity that would reflect this authentic background by melting humor and pairing suggestions with intimate and nostalgic values. The client wished to transmit this rustic atmosphere.

“The exterior box is designed to resemble a vintage AC/DC guitar amp – complete with the original logo that was spray-painted onto the rear of Angus and Malcolm’s speaker cabinets in 1975. The “head” of the amp has a handle that lifts the top off to reveal the contents housed within. Oh yeah, the head is also a WORKING GUITAR AMPLIFIER! That’s right, one watt of pure AC/DC makes this box a truly unique collector’s item. You can PLAY the box set while LISTENING TO the box set! Check out the videos of Angus using the amp.

The box, which includes 3 CDs and 2 DVDs of ACDC rare tracks, recordings and videos, also includes a 12” LP, numerous memorabilia reproductions as well as a 164-page hard bound book containing rare and unseen photos spanning 1974-2009 plus full-size re-prints of original press releases, tour itineraries, tour books, test pressing labels, advertisements and much more. A real history of the band from the inside out. Rare photography includes never-before-seen shots of the band recording at the Albert Music studio on King Street in Sydney with legendary producers Harry Vanda and George Young in 1977. Also tons of unpublished live shots from all over the world.”

Chris Chapman is a London-based designer with an inventive side to his creative thinking. Meaty Packaging is a packaging concept featuring a new way to package fresh meats. He suggests using a biodegradable material, and less of it than the current typical meat packaging. The graphics are friendly and lighthearted - a nice alternative from what you might expect for meat.

I’ve always enjoyed the unconventional ways of Jones Soda Co.

Superbig Creative has just completed this Limited Edition full wrap Soda bottle for Jones Soda Company:

“Having already bottled the exotic Fufu Berry and carbonated Thanksgiving dinner, Jones Soda’s resident mixologist set out to strike gold again with a refreshing summer flavor. Inspired by his summer days of yore, the mad mixer experimented with every Jones Soda flavor in typical “graveyard” fashion, combining a variety of flavors to create a truly original soda.

An accidental lab spill resulted in the perfect refreshing concoction, much like how the French discovered champagne. Proud of his masterpiece, the Jones mixologist is now challenging soda fans, soft drink connoisseurs and curious consumers alike to decipher which four classic Jones flavors, existing or retired, comprise this mystery mixture. Guesses on the new soda recipe can be entered below.

“Each Jones flavor, past and present, has developed its own cult following,” said Joth Ricci, president and CEO of Jones Soda. “Jones Jumble gives fans the chance to revisit the fascination with our expansive flavor lineup, including some lesser known flavors, and put their sophisticated soda palates to the test.”

“At first we found the appropriate brandname. After that the logo appeared. And met lots of different dots. The objective was to create package for power saving lamps which considerably would differ from all other packages of the lamps presented in retail networks. Besides, it was necessary to show that Gauss lamps are the premium-segment, having justified, thus, their higher than at the majority of competitors price. The main idea of the package – minimum superfluous, but maximum sense and convenience. On the face side – only a lamp category, its appearance and key parameters of choice. To attract more attention some objects (dots, lamp) were UV-lacquered. The packages for 93 lamp types were designed fast and with pleasure. C+C Workshop Package Designs

c+c workshop is a Hong Kong-based design studio who designed Cake With Care, a product of Baking Warehouse Ltd. The concept is based on the ‘handle with care’ instructions on packaging and consumer goods. A playful interpretation defines the look for Cake With Care, which features hand-drawn illustrations and a touch of humor.
