This Charming Man

Dimensions: 24” x 24”
Media: Mixed Media on Wood
Year: 2009
Description: I’ve been working on this collection for a while now and finally got around to actually finishing a few of them. The finish on the wood is much richer in person. The entire painting is covered in resin and it made taking a picture of it very hard, but all is well.

A Strip Tease Murder Case

I finished this painting a few weeks back and I think I’m going to take better shots and/or scan it to make a nice little limited edition print. Comments are always welcome. What do you think?

Maus Haus

I started working on this piece a few months back and currently it is hanging at a local art show that I am having. I’m sure I have added more to the piece since this picture has been taken. Once I get the painting back from the show I’ll take updated shots.

What Did You Expect?

I’ve this whole week finishing up a few paintings, but most importantly framing a lot of my work. Here is one of them. It’s a bit older piece, but I’ve always wanted to frame it considering the fragility of the paper that is used.

Here are a couple of pieces I worked on over the weekend. I didn’t do much because this flu is really making anything that I do difficult.

Saturday (Flu) Special

I’m still out for the count with the flu, so I started working on a few smaller paintings. I don’t have enough energy to be standing up all night working on the larger pieces. Later Gators.

Bang Bang Kiss Kiss Day 02

I added some type treatment to the painting and some other details, but overall everything is coming together. This should be done by this weekend and ready for the show in November. Let me know what you think.

Bang Bang Kiss Kiss Day 01

I started working on this bad boy this weekend and it roughly measures 36” x 60”. I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend I know I did with my flu. I’ll have more updates of this painting in the next few days.

Mr. T (Pott)

Finished this little piece this afternoon. It’s covered in resin. I use to cover most of my work in resin a few years ago and got back into it after finishing a coffee table build I did as a wedding present.

Ja Pay, 2009 is one of several collaborative works created by artist Peter Harris and musician Lee Scratch Perry that will be on display at the Higher Power art show on Sept. 10 in London.

This September marks three years since Banksy captured the art world’s attention with Barely Legal, the now legendary three-day Los Angeles warehouse show, whose location was not disclosed until opening day. Looking back, its as if the exhibit’s mammoth success spawned the beginning of pop-up art show mania. What was once regarded as a guerilla marketing move used by street-hip artists and dealers a few years ago is quickly catching on. In the past few years, companies like Nike, Scion and Campari have been particularly adept at promoting their brands to young audiences and tastemakers by using such art-events.

Yet, while pop-up galleries – temporary art shows held in vacant commercial spaces – are now a mainstream marketing tactic, they may quickly become a financial necessity in a shaken economy, where both the real estate and art markets have been dramatically impacted.

Earlier this summer, Ad Hoc Art partnered with community development organization, Metrotech BID, to transform a vacant Brooklyn, NY block into a storefront gallery of street art, inviting 15 artists including Chris Stain,Greg Lamarche, Lady Pink and Logan Hicks to create site specific installations in the windows of former businesses. (Its worth noting Ad Hoc has since announced its closing, joining a growing list of galleries who have been unable to fight off the recession)

Rope A Dope

The last few weeks have been very productive in regards to my paintings. Lately, watching, my niece while her mum is in the hospital has inspired me to work on this new series. Involves a lot of deconstructed Disney characters. This is day one of working on Rope A Dope—hope you like it.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Andy Kehoe spent his childhood watching cartoons, reading storybooks, and doodling. If you’ve ever seen Mr. Kehoe’s work, you know his dedication to his craft paid off. He also pursued more formal training as well. Following what Kehoe describes as “a long and expensive tour of art schools” he finally ended up at Parsons School of Design in New York, where he studied illustration. Following that stint, he began exhibiting his work in galleries across the country. His most recent show, this past April’s “Living in Twilight” at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York, was Kehoe’s introduction to the art world on a larger scale.

This is the most current series that I am working on. It consists of four paintings when put together create a nice little storyboard.
